Working a lot of hours for not a lot of 'net' cash...

Flexible hours, instant cash out of gross earnings, quick way to earn in a jam.
Cons
As a NJ based driver - can get a fare going into NYC, but cannot leave with an outgoing fare - but NYC folks can cross over anytime and do - NJ is loaded with NYC Lyft's competing for airport, transit runs. Not good or fair to NJ (also - it takes hours to get out of NYC at anytime of day, so you lose time/money). Wear and tear on the vehicle is VERY bad. Been driving 12+ hours a day, to get to the 'bonus' or 'streak'..which is very tough to do. Using 20 rides as a typical day 12 hour day +/-, with a lot of miles to get there, it usually gets you to about $15./hour (gross). Local Power Zones are empty. Event & Weekend zones/venues are one and dones and usually - too far away when you want to get home. Shared rides are a drag, passengers get angry if they are on a schedule. Newark/Liberty Airport ride share holding lot is a nightmare of disgusting things...inadequate bathroom facility (filthy porto-jons), and a lunch truck of death - DO EAT OR DRINK there.

Pros
The people are great and the work is very interesting. The tech is miles better than most huge companies and the internal tools you do have to use are great. Pay is also nice; when the stock is online with offer. If it’s not, then you are making almost nothing.
Cons
Pay; if the stock drops a lot. It has dropped a ton so you most likely aren’t gonna be making even close to what you are offered. I made roughly 60% of my TC which put me in line with no name companies. Layoffs; the company is spiraling and they keep having layoffs. They also only seem to layoff competent engineers so expect things to get harder generally. RTO; speaks for itself
