I have been working at MGM Resorts International full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Working at MGM resorts is a very fast paced and unique environment. The corporate environment is much different then normal corporate America. The positions have oversight of some of the worlds largest resorts in the world.

Cons

One of the downsides that you have to get used to is that directions can change on a daily basis. It could make managing projects very challenging.

Advice to Management

Let department management be more involved in hiring process for new positions. HR does not always understand the specific jobs or needs of departments and the hiring process can get bogged down because of this. A lot of unqualified applicants get through the filtering process because of this lack of knowledge.

I worked at MGM Resorts International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well established brand which is good for your resume if you have a profession (i.e. aren't a dealer or cocktail). A diverse environment which allows you to experience many aspects of business including finance, retail, restaurant, casino, hospitality, and f&b all in one.

    Cons

    Lack of innovation
Outsources it resources to it's detriment (such as IT)
Plays it safe in the industry.
    Extremely political
Pay is well below the industry average

    Advice to Management

Work smarter not harder and stop laying off your most intelligent resources like an indifferent corporate machine (I left by my own accord, others didn't have that insight). Also, stop following Sands and Wynn. Innovation is not achieved through imitation.
