Pros

Free avocados in the morning + 5pm finish. There are some incredibly smart individuals at MVF, however, it's a shame the majority of them refuse to engage with you till after probation.

Cons

It's common knowledge to take glassdoor reviews with a pinch of salt. However, this review is one of many and also being writ on behalf of my ex-colleagues. I stress you think very carefully before joining MVF and take this feedback seriously. The company's middle management is run by teenagers who have no idea what they're doing. Managers are promoted by hitting there KPI's, not by their skills to be a manager. The same managers are supposed to support you throughout a very intense probationary period, in which only 50% of people pass. You are essentially doomed from the start. You recieve very little feedback from managers and communication seems to be one-sided. That being; you ask for feedback and managers blindly ignore your request. Or meetings you're lucky enough to arrange, usually consist of 'you're doing this wrong, better sort it out before probation' - a complete lack of constructive support. The company tends to hire young salespeople with little work experience & pays them a below average management salary. You are told the commission structure contributes a large part of the salary, however many BDM's have been there over 6 months and have still not received any commission. The company has a cult-like environment, full of cliques and social groups - it feels very much like high school, a lot of gossiping and child-like antics. If you are not brown-nosing your management + peers, it is very unlikely you will pass probation. MVF can be a very lonely place if you do not fit their culture. From the start of probation, it is drilled into you that you will not pass. The company destroys your ego and makes you feel incredibly incompetent.

Hi, Thanks very much for your feedback. I feel sad to hear that you didn’t have a good experience. It’s even more disappointing hearing after you’ve left as I would have been very open to talking it through with you personally. I still am open to speaking with you directly so please do contact me if you’d like to talk in more detail. I expect that there will be some people who will have clicked on this review who may be considering working for MVF so it's only fair to offer some real time data as many of the 'stats' mentioned in this review are opinions rather than facts. We do take the probation period seriously but I expect we aren’t the only company who does. It’s also worth remembering that probation is two way – we provide the best onboarding, training, support and feedback throughout that time and in turn, we hope that our new MVFers will provide us with feedback to make sure that we are setting them up for success. Given that our probation passes are far, far, far higher than 50%, we seem to be getting the balance right. Our Managers are also trained to a very high standard. In fact our Management Development Programme is accredited and quality endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management. We also have a team of Senior Leaders (including our CEO, Finance Director, People Operations Director and me) who review all promotion proposals for consistency and fairness. So, if you are reading this and wondering what it is like to work at MVF, I can’t change the opinion of this reviewer but I can offer you an alternative perspective from one of our Sales Academy hires - https://www.mvfglobal.com/insights/effective-employee-onboarding I hope you apply and find out for yourself. Chances are, you will be one of the many MVFers (like me) who are very happy! Best, Ange
