I have been working at Macquarie Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I interned here last summer and chose to return for full time. Love the friendly, inclusive culture. Lots of resources to help you grow in your career.

    Cons

None. Love it here at Maq!

    I worked at Macquarie Group

    Pros

Meaningful work, fast paced, solid work perks

    Cons

Co-op program does not transition into their grad program (post grad offer) like their internships do.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Macquarie Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - some really smart people where you could learn a lot from - lean deal teams so could take high level of responsibilities from day 1 - not the typical bank on WS, so not the toxic culture but generally collaborative, colleagues willing to help and respective of personal time - infrastructure team had some of the highest caliber people and better team morale

    Cons

    - approval for investment felt hierarchical, complex and inefficient - training for new analyst was pretty much useless. 99% learning achieved on the desk - you could do really well and get an average compensation, so felt like it was trying to make everyone happy but the price was to not compensate those who really performed well - not that competitive compared to other American banks

    Advice to Management

maintaining the 40+ year streak of positive earnings is great, but the real challenge is how to become more competitive, grow and take on opportunities that others might be shunning away from. The MIRA business gives nice steady fee stream and is still growing which should provide a buffer to test out new areas of growth opps
