I have been working at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The employees were generally very nice.

Cons

The customer service was terrible, the managers were never around/available, overall a very depressing place to work, and very surprised that (as one of their better employees in my eyes) they did not even ask me why I put in my resignation or where I decided to go.

Advice to Management

Offer better training, customer service, and an overall better environment for workers and customers. I know and have heard a lot of people say they hate shopping there.

    I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great employee discount and in addition you can use coupons.
    I think I work with some great people that have been in the company more than 10 years so they make going to work each time something I look forward to. The tasks are not hard. Some great customers.

    Cons

    Overworked for the least compensation. Management needs some serious training and be more hands on. Benefits suck; if you don't work the minimum average hours, your vacation days disappear without any notice. Lack of communication from management of what is going on. New hires lack proper training, they just throw them onto the floor to fend for themselves. Too focused on sales and credits than customer service. Don't care about employees very much.

    Advice to Management

    Get some proper training themsleves. Be more professional. Be on the floor to help out.

    EVERYTHING ELSE. Over Worked. Micro Managed.
