I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

Pros

My managers are nice and helpful, lots of fun incentives and games, lots of training to help you reach your goals, friendly associates, good hours plus I can pick up extra hours, they like hiring in company so great opportunities to advance, the company does great things for charities, they don't care about tattoos or piercings.

Cons

Not enough coverage for big sales, sales goals are sometimes unreachable, it does get a bit gossipy between associates, sometimes you get scheduled very short shifts (3 hour), started at minimum wage.

Advice to Management

Make sure each area is staffed.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Associates receive 20% discount on everything, there is room to grow with the company. Work schedule is flexible.

    Cons

Lack of support, not enough training and new associate training is not helpful. Forced to open credit cards for customers or associate is not seen as valuable. Encouraged to trick/lie to customers to buy things and open credit cards to boost store sales.

    Advice to Management

Managers should constantly be evaluated on how there sales area is ran. Managers should have enough experience to actually manage and know how to value their associates instead of only negative feedback to help increase sales.
