I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Wonderful Company. Dedicated to the community. Lives up to the reputation of a world-class store. Places customers at the center of every decision.

Cons

Upper management not always forthcoming. Keeps vital information under wraps for fear it will cause workers to panic. Employees work in a culture of constant fear - even the most productive members are shunned because they don't "fit in."

Advice to Management

Senior Execs: Pay closer attention to your juniors. If you don't feel open, honest communication, take the time to investigate, there may be a reason.

    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The women were nice and there were some ok managers.

    Cons

The fitting rooms were always a mess. there was only one person to clean them. ME. I did my best but most of my co-workers didn't do a thing to help me. And I was tasked to do 3 z-racks ALONE in one hr. Again no one even tried to help. The cashiers mostly stayed at their registers doing nothing. I did like the job as it was my first but I believe in teamwork and there was none.

    Advice to Management

Teamwork helps. Instead of just one person doing all the work people could share the workload.

    Approves of CEO

    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Managers are wonderful and frequently offer their help and advice.
Incentives for employees to perform better.
Rallys in the morning to give employees the sense of being a team.

    Cons

Some employees just float along not doing the same amount of work as others, hiding in the dressing rooms texting. Managers can't be everywhere all the time and don't see this.
The pay is not enough for all the work you have to do.

    Advice to Management

Better training to new employees and 're-fresher' courses for current employees about how to interact with customers.
