I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work environment in your particular department will be nice.

    Cons

Scheduling can be hectic. A lot of the customers return a lot which can count against you if you work in a commissioned area like I do with a return policy like Macy's .. which is practically nonexistent.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more and actually work with us instead of against us.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you got lucky co-workers, discount wasn't bad. Decent health insurance

    Cons

My direct manager didn't like and went out of his way to belittle me in front of co-workers, other managers and even customers. Opening credit is such a big deal that reaching sales goals, adding clientele didn't matter if you didn't open credit. Crazy hours at holiday. Little flexibility in schedule. A "high school- type" mentality. Managers were often petty and rude. Often felt like I was being spoke down to.

    Advice to Management

Cut out all the ridiculous training with silly names like "magic". Treat associates with respect and like the adults we are.
