I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Lot of work to do in a day, which makes the day go by fast.

Cons

Not enough/proper training given for this position. A lot of situations that occur require proper training. I work in a smaller store where there are only 2 AST and an ASTS.

Advice to Management

Need to hire qualified people.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None! Can't think of one thing!

    Cons

Part-time pay for full time hours, unorganized, felons run the company but somehow good employees get fired for attendance and other employees who tell customers to "f off" are still there? poor/young/unqualified management, descrimination is throughout the whole organization, they hire children to manage people, runs comparable to Walmart, sales every day that cheapen the company and turn off customers. Customer base are foreign cheapskates that heckle prices as if you're at a flea market. You will make more money working in fast food than at this dump.

    Advice to Management

Just because you're "salaried" at 25k per year doesn't mean anything. If at all, I wouldn't be bragging about it. I would actually be embarrassed to tell people you're a manager at Macy's. Especially with the array of felons and ignorant people who you "manage". Get a job at McDonald's, your IQ is less than an ape!

I have been working at Macy's as a contractor

    Pros

Nice employees, active job, this can be a good job if you want a second job or don't care about getting a decent amount of hours

    Cons

Extremely tight on hours, managers want you to clock out on the dot, over-worked with very little pay, 10 cent annual raise until you hit you maximum pay amount, really hot if you work before the store opens, not willing to give extra hours even if you are only scheduled for 12 hours for the week, Macy's cuts corners by placing you apart of the "flex team" so they don't have to give part-time/full-time benefits

    Advice to Management

Start taking care of your employees before all the good/hard workers go and you're stuck with lazy employees. Most people would like to stay but we aren't ignorant to the fact that there is much better out there
