Great for if wanting to just learn a little and never want to move up. All depends on who you report to and how they are or aren't willing to teach you or help to grow.
Cons
Under compensation, over worked. Excepts you to take on more and more as time goes on and never gets you the pay for what you do or improve in the department. Will make your team smaller and smaller until it's just you and manager and except you to still do everything without help. Get laughed at when asking for a raise for taking on more responsibilities. Every team and/or department is different though. I know of a different department that every seem to get along great and they have a management team that fights for them all the time.
