I have been working at ManTech full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good training budget; Strong sense of mission and pride in quality customers; Experienced staff that do a good job mentoring junior people.

Cons

Weak sales and marketing of company's strengths and assets; Low success rates for winning new work; Resistance to 'eating own dog food' in terms of services and products.

Advice to Management

Focus on improving sales and marketing to secure more business; Make a larger commitment to securing business from private sector.

I worked at ManTech full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very few. Some professionals are hardworking, honest and nice. Benefits are better than most.

    Cons

Difficult work environments across all departments. Poor technology and systems. Little-to-no diversity. Promotions based on favoritism. Absence of business ethics in key areas. HR support for managers only. Employees sink or swim w/o HR support. Respect and dignity toward employees is absent. Smart, business savvy professionals stay for short periods of time and move on once they discover the inside story.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the feedback you get from employees and work at implementing changes to the organization and archaic, old-boy network that no longer works with today's more progressive employees.

I worked at ManTech full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, regular hours, accessible by public transportation.

    Cons

There are many mandatory ManTech Culture sessions that you have to participate in as a ManTech employee -- micro-advisories on ethics and professional behavior. It's all a bit paternalistic.

    Advice to Management

I worked for ManTech in a location they inherited when they bought a woman-owned contracting company. It was a pretty lousy coding job with few redeeming values and a supervisor who was marginally more qulified to do her job than i was. But I needed the money.
