Pros

Highly recommended for starters. Pay is okay, probably above average depends on experience. You will get to know many great, knowledgeable people in the field. Also get to work with many well-known companies. Also come with travel perks if that's what you like. Close working relationship with R&D team which is a lot more supportive than before. Business as a whole is going great and future looks good. A lot of upward opportunities because turn over is high in the mid-level.

Cons

Terrible work-life balance at times. This is not just for young junior positions. Have seen many senior people also putting in ridiculously long hours doing front line work. Hard to do if you have family. Not sure if that this what I want to see myself going in 8-10 years.

Advice to Management

Don't sign unrealistic contracts with clients. At the end it just hurt employee morals and does nothing good to the projects

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Manhattan pays comparable salaries for non-tech positions. Pretty decent benefits.

    Cons

As of 2013, new leadership seems to be a bit undecisive, which has caused extra effort on an already taxed staff.

In addition, when an associate resigns, the responsibilities tend to be distributed through the affected organization (usually one person). Management waits until something is broken before bringing in contractors to fill the gap.

Non-bonus eligible raises have tended to be rather low over the past couple of years, even for high performers. This is despite the fact that Manhattan has been consistently had record earnings for the same period with zero debt and over $100 million in cash.

There was a big push earlier this year to complete an Atlanta Journal-Constitution "2013 Best Place to Work" which is touted everywhere, however, many are curious how this could be given all of the above cons.

    Advice to Management

More decisiveness in direction; given record earnings, zero debt and $100 million in cash, spread the wealth a little for non-bonus eligible employees; the message read from not backfilling positions does not help an already understaffed organization.

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly people, embedded in wide array of businesses, innovative products, wide range of age groups, and extremely diverse. Salaries are reasonable, benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Great starting point for a career, but career development is lacking unless you are willing to live on the road for a few years. Management turnover makes continuity a challenge. Salaries while decent are not the highest in this industry.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your people.
