I worked at Maple Leaf Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

The hours, and the co-workers

Cons

Everyday new rules that only apply to people not favored by management. A health and safety committee that bends the rules and really between them and their health unit coordinator, dont give a crap if you are injured.

Advice to Management

Remember where you came from and when you can cut a thousand hogs an hour. We will talk. And to Micheal McCain our low wages and our health is important. You said to us what's more important quality or our wages!? Easy to say when your rich, yet really ignorant.

I worked at Maple Leaf Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent base pay
    Interesting people
    Free Meat
Other departments seemed to be running much better with a positive vibe

    Cons

    Management structure is very unstable
    Managers have problems with eachother
Was originally told i could move to another department in 12 months, then 16, then 18 ... then i left the company
Director pushes too hard and at the same time takes away resources (Employees, people would quit and would not be replaced)

    Advice to Management

Be more open, work with your teams in a friendly and polite environment
