I worked at Marine Corps Community Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for what the work was, working with children was fun and I learned a lot of about child development

    Cons

poor management, excessive rules (have to change gloves while changing an infant's diaper, can't put a toddler in time out "its his choice" and can't use negative language such as "no" and "don't".

    Advice to Management

Keep a schedule! I was expected to change my week's schedule after I already signed off on it, consistently week after week.

I have been working at Marine Corps Community Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

This employer is fair and reasonable. They have clear policies in place and are transparent with business practices. One thing that is great about being a yoga teacher here is that all group fitness instructors get paid per class, plus commute time. I enjoy teaching for them because I get to share yoga with active duty military, and the environment is inclusive.

    Cons

So far the company has been great and I haven't had any complaints so far. They do have a lot of group fitness instructors, so it might be hard working there full time and getting the opportunity to teach enough classes is this was the only source of income. Right now I teach four classes per week, and I would say this is part time.

    Advice to Management

The management team is great and very professional. I did notice though that there are not very male yoga teachers, but I understand yoga is a female dominated field so it may be harder to find male teachers.
