Pros

Huge hotel discounts

Get to meet a lot of people

There are slow days, but (depending on the hotel) you are always on the go, which makes time go by faster

Good experience for customer service and professionalism.

If you are not a good multi-tasker, you will be after working a front desk

Cons

I thought the compensation could have been a bit higher, considering that front desk is the face of the hotel.

Front desk is where all the complaints come to, even if it has nothing to do with you.

As a front desk associate, you are asked to help out anywhere and everywhere in the hotel, when needed.

    Good Staff and Supervisors, work life balance is excellent. Great employee discounts

    Cons

    Minimum wage, crap benefits, senior management does even know if you work there or not.

    Advice to Management

    Come out of your offices once and a while, and look up from your Backberries when you are out.

    - competitive salaries
    - good opportunities for senior leaders
    - good benefits such as pension plan, private medical insurance, new bonus plan, etc.

    - slow in change management
    - unbalanced work -life balance (labour shortage, etc. )
    - new system improvements currently in progess

    Advice to Management

    - Focus on training and development of entry-level position up to senior manager positions
    - review processes to implement efficiencies and therewith enabel work-life balance
