    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Marriott International as an intern

    Pros

    1. A global company and world-wide hospitality brand, Marriott's service definitely lives up to her name of excellence! Definitely worth the position of a Fortune 500 company.

    Cons

    1. Lack of people management by one manager who did not add value to the intern's experience. He was biased, TOUCHY and showed favourtism to female trainees. As a restaurant manager, he showed no guidance to an intern (like me) and threw me to the deep end of the sea; lack of coaching, lack of guidance, lack of following up to ask about the development of intern at this particular department. In all, the manager spoke with me less than 5 sentences through my 3-4 months stint. Despite this, I still gave my best.

    2. Seemed that most 'trainees' were hired from Philippines. I felt like I was in a foreign country working in my department. (I was the only local.)

    Advice to Management

Being a company to work for by Fortune - employees in the front-line lack training.
