I have been working at Marriott International full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

So many opportunities to work for a world class company, with a strong culture of taking care of the associates, the guests, and financials.

Cons

Though the Headquarters promotes virtual associates, not all departments feel the same way. It's a missed opportunity for some quality teams.

Advice to Management

In the past two years, I have applied for positions with in the company and the interview process has not been the best experience: delays in communication, being qualified for the position but not having the chance to interview, not being able to contact any one person to follow up or ask questions.

I worked at Marriott International part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management was always willing to work with my availability. There were a fair amount of opportunities to advance. Everyone was always willing to offer a helping hand. The work environment was fun and lighthearted. The staff was a fun and everyone almost always got along.

    Cons

There were never enough workers to cover shifts. Shifts were often too hectic and frustrating. High turnover rate which lead to a period of "lack of togetherness."

    Pros

Having a brand image is great, but the hotel is actually managed by a private company.

    Cons

Having private ownership that does not have much presence in the NY market.
