I worked at Marriott International full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great training and high quality of associates. Great promotability if relocation is an option.

Cons

Benefits were drastically reduced. Work Life Balance went away with the re-organization of the sales department. They are no longer practicing what they preach. Salary is behind industry standard.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Marriott International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Exciting atmosphere, on the cutting edge of almost every practice. Very dynamic and usually pragmatic. Company has resources to stay on the cutting edge of business

    Cons

Very Competitive. Company seems to value education (advanced degree) over experience. Can tend to be very process oriented. There is a process for everything - even establishing loyalty.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the balance between advanced education and operational experience. There is room for both.
Company can feel like a machine. Difficult message for people who think they are working in a people business.
