Pros

Great people to work with and be around

Very little recognition and incentive to work hard

Advice to Management

Give more positive reinforcement to employees when doing very well at job, something better than a reach for the star card

I worked at Marshalls part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Marshalls offered a friendly and busy environment. Teamwork and knowledge of brands and departments is encouraged. The opportunity for learning new tasks and departmental roles are constant.

    Cons

Management communication was sparse. The goals of Management (store inspection reviews, pushing credit card applications, increasing sales numbers) were so broad, I didn't to have any connection to accomplishing them. Turnover at the management level was also high. I felt like I contributed to the company cause, but I was not engaged or excited about working here.

    Advice to Management

I believe Marshalls will benefit with more transparency and opportunities for employees to understand methods of the business.
