Pros

Good place to work depending on the department. V Good Work / Life balance. Salary is comparable to other universities but does not compare to private sector

Cons

The wheels of change turn slowly. There are some that are more forward and progressive thinking than others but at the end of the day there is still the bureaucracy and decision making process which can significantly slow things down and discourage those who may be trying to implement change

Advice to Management

Facilitate change. Allow for younger recruits with ideas

I worked at Marymount University part-time

    Pros

It was convenient, to have a job that I could easily go to while I was on campus, the hours are flexible.

    Cons

The graveyard shift is never great, but it's a must.

    Advice to Management

Be careful with the schedules around daylight saving time.

I have been working at Marymount University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to be exposed and get more responsibility
     Cheap parking & cheap lunch
Tons of job openings as most people stay short term
    Top end has heavy salaries

    Cons

Lack of pay. $30k in Arlington is a joke. Seriously AP at other local schools get paid more

President tries to be buddy-buddy with students. Student conduct, parking, housing, grades, and tuition issues all go to the president or threaten to all the time. Sometime he actually gets involved, and people that know him get a whole other set of rules to follow

80% of faculty is adjunct and all services 3rd party vendors
