I have been working at Massachusetts General Hospital as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

+Smart, helpful co-workers
+Great physical environment
+Great brand-name in healthcare arena

Cons

-Things take a lot of time (ordering lab supplies, getting on payroll, etc.)
-Lots of administrative annoyance for the lawyers and government

Advice to Management

Stop implementing inefficient bureaucratic nonsense. It's not a good thing that your profit margins are a lot lower than Cleveland Clinic and peer hospitals, US News rankings notwithstanding.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Amazing benefits. Competitive salary which was increased several times due to market adjustments. Managers were supportive with career advancement and tuition reimbursement was generous.

    Cons

While working in the laboratory there, I was in school for nursing. Although they told me that I would have an opportunity to work there as a nurse on graduation, I found out later that they don't hire nurses with associates degrees. Would've been nice to know that from the start.

    Advice to Management

Don't tell people you will hire them and then change your mind after they completed years of hard work to become a nurse.
