More African staff of late

There’s lots here for a good investigative reporter to look at. Huge long term grants going to the same big NGOs, banks and consultant firms with odd personal relationships to board members and the CEO. Visible steps being taken to hire more African staff and that’s great. But more money than ever going to contracts with European and North American consulting firms who really have the CEOs trust. Almost no upper level staff from the international development sector… they're from big pharma, military, private security forces, that sort of background. Lots of training and employment programs that seem to serve the interests of the hotel owners and other private employers who should be paying for them. Much talk about values and big plans, but not much you can do with an overstretched and demoralized workforce.
