          Pros

          - The best part so far is the "human element" of the workplace, i.e. the company culture. People actually seem to care about the success of their colleagues in addition to their own. And there's an annual office weekend retreat at a resort - all paid for, including a +1. - Helping people in the Aerospace & Defense Industry solve complex engineering/science problems using MATLAB and Simulink - Pay is quite competitive in my estimation, and there is a substantive quarterly bonus depending on company and individual performance during that quarter - Doesn't come with the nuisances of the red tape, bureaucracy, and security clearances necessary for typical aerospace & defense companies - The IT infrastructure is really solid and the e-tools are well documented - There is an organized and rigorous onboarding process with clear directions and milestones

          Cons

          - As an application engineer, managing your Outlook emails and Teams messages is a necessary but unfortunate time-suck that can easily take you away from doing the meaningful work you originally joined the company for - You have to log your time for each customer project you're supporting - an overall a minor nuisance but quite annoying nonetheless

If employers are shopping cheap, should we just apply for roles that we're less qualified for?

I had an interview late August, sent a thank you the same day, followed up when they said they would get back to me, and then again a week later and I got no response. I gave up and they just sent me an email saying the position was on hold and they hoped to have an update at the end of the week. I'd still like to see what they might offer me so what could I say in response?

Have you ever been asked by a recruiter to sign an nda before they can speak to you about a job they're recruiting you for? Mind you they reached out to me
