Pros

- Very hard working colleagues in engineering. Some of them are not bad.

Cons

- Ridiculously out-of-touch HR with Chinese company mentality. They tried to get everyone back to 5-day a week office work. They sent out the email on a friday and expected everyone to show up the following monday. - Another mark of a chinese company: they tell you it is against company policy to discuss compensation with your colleagues, and that you may receive disciplinary action if caught doing so. - Unless you're fully capable of reading, writing and speaking Mandarin, you will not thrive working in Matrixport or bit.com engineering. You might survive for awhile, but your reach and impact will be heavily penalized by the fact that you cannot communicate fluently with most of the other engineers. (Other teams that have English as a common working language should be fine.) - Do not believe their bonus guidance of 0-6 months. Most will get 0 - 2 months. - No 13-month bonus. No other bonuses. No learning allowance. - They will promise pay increments and promotions, only to take those away when the time comes, citing how badly crypto is doing. And this was after one of the best years in crypto. Do not be baited. - If you insist on working here, make sure that you negotiate a high base. You won't see another bump for at least 12 months. - No townhall meetings. You won't know what the CEO and founder are doing and planning.

Some processes can be slow, occasional miscommunication between departments, and limited parking space.

Pros

Colleagues are very nice and willing to support each other.

Cons

The company has absolutely no strategy or has its strategy extremely poorly executed. Major shareholders made money else where and just don't care this company at all. In last two years they hired executives from exchanges who don't understand the asset management business model but have brought in a lot of toxic culture and staffs. Old staffs are leaving. Financials and compensations are a big black box.
