Upper management is out of touch with reality

Your team becomes your work family. You are going to meet the most incredible, funny, and hard-working individuals at maurices. They are the reason you come to work every day. Working with people who constantly push you to be your best will only make you shine at your next employer. You are going to have so much fun with your customers if you enjoy talking to new people and playing dress-up. Going home at the end of the day knowing you helped someone who just lost 100 lbs and seeing how confident they felt in their new outfits is so rewarding. The scenarios are endless and often end in happy tears and hugs.
Cons
This company went from truly putting "people first" (customers and employees) to disregarding their needs by finding ways to make money as cheaply and quickly as possible. They are cutting costs by using their stores as distribution centers .. meaning you will have a whole page of online orders to pack, which take hours to locate on the floor, package nicely, print labels etc. All while you are supposed to be helping the customer that is actually shopping in your store! District managers will breathe fire down your neck for not getting these done on time and then wonder why brick and mortar sales are suffering. Maybe because we are juggling our brick and mortar customers with your e-commerce customers. You can never win as district, regional, and ceos are all out of touch with reality and haven't worked in the field for decades.
