I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The people and work environment are good. Treat everyone fairly. Really good benefits. Decent work/life balance.

Cons

Sometimes management does not take input from regular employees. Employees who actually do the job. Pay is low compared to market rate. Not much growth.

Advice to Management

Start paying employees market rate. Need to take input from average employees.

"Good Company Overall. Benefits and Compensation slowly eroding. Executives in ivory tower."

I have been working at Maxim Integrated full-time

    Pros

Health benefits are good for now. If you work for the right management group, work can be satisfying. Company is trying to change original "miser" culture, and create spaces for creativity.

    Cons

Since it is an analog electronics company, technology lags behind industry. Executive management appears out of touch with employee base and work. Total compensation and benefits decreasing over time.

    Advice to Management

Maxim has always been profitable, and has a good business model. I would not continue to erode benefits / pay over time, as that is what kept many employees at Maxim in the first place. Don't ignore the many employee survey's advice.

I have been working at Maxim Integrated full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For semiconductor chips, the products are reasonably interesting. At least they aren't boring memory chips.

    Cons

From the grunt level, there seems to be a lot of random HR, procurement, recruiting systems etc. that are a cobbled mess. No stock options for grunts. The compay seems to be run mostly by former design engineers...thus there seems to be less emphasis on product and test engineering than other companies I have worked for in the past. Net result is great parts that can't be delivered in a timely manner.

    Advice to Management

More product and test engineering emphasis.
