Cons
Be careful with ANY job that Maxonic has to offer! They got me a job that I thought was a dream job at a reputable university. It paid very well and I got the job right away after just a few interviews due to my excellent experience. What started out as a part-time job turned into a full-time job within 2 days. Great! The catch was... I was doing 3 jobs for 3 different depts. reporting to 6 different people who all had different expectations. One job was replacing a person who had a full-time job and was going on maternity leave who gave me only a few hours of training before she left. This was a very high-level, full-time position and the person I was replacing had been doing the job for 8 yrs and had an MBA. I had to commute 4 hrs (RT) into work every week to two different locations and the rest of the time I was working remotely trying to keep up with very little support. I had to train online for all 3 jobs that took several hours out of my day and, every time I thought I was done, another training came up that I needed to do. They kept extending my contract but adding responsibilities that they didn't provide training for. I was concerned that I was not going to be able to keep up. I'm so glad the contract is over but it definitely hurt my reputation and my future ability to get a job at the university. There was no human way that anyone could do what they expected of me and at the level of excellence I'm used to providing!! My contacts at Maxonic were never available to talk and only communicated by text (email only if I initiated it). I suspect that they're located out of the US. And benefits don't kick in until 3 mos later when most consultant assignments are over!
