I worked at McCormick & Schmick's full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good money, good people, great food. I had a fine time working here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a bartending job.

Cons

They had a very high turnover of management on all levels. This definitely caused a problem. But other than that it was a great place to work.

Advice to Management

Hire quality management, then hold onto them.

I have been working at McCormick & Schmick's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fresh squeezed juice in cocktail drinks. It's a job so I suppose it is better than no job of working overnight in a warehouse.

    Cons

Nationwide corporate menu, no more local selections of wine and down to only a couple Oregon beers on draft. Food is over-priced and hard to be proud of anymore. Open every day of the year. 8 year employee was fired recently for a bad shopper report. It was bad due to the fact that this person had 10 tables going at once because management was trying to cut labor to avoid upper management from breathing down their necks. Too bad, they were really good at their job. Everybody that is good is quitting.

    I worked at McCormick & Schmick's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tips are decent for dinner shifts and the training, work environment, and food quality are excellent. Overall a nice restaurant to work at.

    Cons

The management was trained to greatly over staff the floor, which reduced the number of decent shifts to 2-3 a week. It was not feasible to work there .

    Advice to Management

Have faith in your employees desire to make money, work shifts, and support your needs. You will retain loyal, non-transient employees.
