I have been working at McDonald's part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Flexible hours, valued employees, chance for promotion(to crew trainer in just a few weeks/months), half-off meals, 15 and 40 minute breaks

Cons

busy work environment, hours seem long doing the same task over and over, need to be precise on order, managers could be a little strict, customers could be rude

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working for a Corporate or Family owned based business is great if the respect is there. If you work for a family owned McDonalds it is really a great place to work if the owners have actually worked from the bottom up and understand from a crew member perspective first and then as a owner. You are treated better if the compassion and understanding is there.

    Cons

Can be very fast paced at times and the customer is always right even if they are wrong. You have to sometimes put up with more difficult situations then you should have to for the amount of pay that you get. Sometimes they can expect more from you then the praise of a job well done or pay shows.

    Advice to Management

Try to be consistent in treatment of each crew member, the older workers deserve more respect then what they are given and they work harder then the young high school kids. So they should be paid and treated much better then the fly by night kids that dont care and will just not show up or quit.

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very systematic, which could be a con if you prefer spontaneity. As a result of this, tasks become very repetitive and should be done a certain way. The work itself is very easy and usually requires no physical or mental exertion.

    Cons

It's up to the employee to enjoy work. If one slips into a bad attitude, negative habits may form and cause each work day to drag on and on. This is seen in many employees and can wear off on you if you let it.

    Advice to Management

Care less about doing everything the way it should be done according to the corporation and instead be more practical with employees.
