I have been working at McDonald's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It is different every day. Dealing with different kinds of customers and crew. Paid vacation, medical and dental partially paid for. Paid training that can be put towards a college degree.

    Cons

Not flexible schedules, work all holidays including christmas and thanksgiving, work weekends, work overtime and get paid regular hours, deal with rude customers, employees with no work ethic, sometimes no breaks, strict uniform policies, discrimination, horrible work hours( 3-11pm then 3am-12, 9-5pm then 8pm-4am).

    I worked at McDonald's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As an assistant you get some of the best health insurance you could ever want. You have a steady salary and plenty of assignments to always keep you busy and room for advancement is the sky as long as you are a good employee and follow the rules. If you are looking for a good career with decent to above adv rage salary as you go up - this is it.

    Cons

The insurance I had did not include my family - I had to pay extra for that which was impossible with the rates. Spending 10 plus hours on your feet a day with no breaks sometimes, otherwise you lose control of your shift - no matter how great you are if you don't control your environment you lose control of it. At times the goals they give you are impossible to set, event though they say they are not - they are. Simple and true. If they want to improve they would start being more realistic of the goals they set.

    Advice to Management

Look above at the 'cons' comment.
Also, franchise owners tend to let alot of favoritism go on - it's nice when you experience the family atmosphere but it's not so great when that gives someone in power and excuse to break rules ... because then you lose great people that could one day be a great leader in your company.
