    I worked at McDonald's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you have a half a brain, there are incentives in place for supervisors and GM's to promote you (ie. store points and rankings given out by the corporation). The theory behind the the "McDonald's Way" is solid, and when they send you on trips and conferences, you can see that the people love their company.

    Cons

At the store level, people truly do not know how to run a business, and are generally taught by McD's the little bit they know. Basically, it's a case of "enough knowledge to be dangerous", and often times illegal things happen in order to "make the numbers work". Training is difficult to enforce and follow up on, and it gets discouraging to management when supervisors expect results out of someone who isn't trained enough.

    Advice to Management

Watch out who you put in upper management, they might just nail you in the back later on.
