I have been working at McDonald's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very nice managers. The shift managers were all nice and asked me if i needed to take breaks or if i need a courtesy drink or anything in general. They were nice, but they were also pretty serious about how we did our job.

    Cons

Very hot and fast paced working area
The floor is always greasy and slippery no matter what
You get treated like crap at the counter by customers
Overall customers are whats the problem

    Pros

Discounted Food, Met some cool people.

    Cons

Depends on the franchise.. I suggest going to a corporate store if you can. They brought me in at minimum wage and after 1 & half months I was at the top of the employee ranking list. Oh but they couldn't give me a raise up from minimum wage. Was supposed to be started higher than that since I was a closer to begin with. Stayed for almost 4 months then quit without getting another job first. Just could not take being used anymore. They exploit their better employees, and managers are way underpaid for the crap they have to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Things would run a lot more smoothly if you would pay your "go to" employees better. Instead the best employees quit after a couple months and they hire more people. It is the crappy employees that never leave because they pretty much have a no fire policy.
