I worked at McKesson full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good pay and great benefits.

Cons

The place is restructured every year to protect the guilty. Bootlickers get promoted and are protected. Poor performers that are well liked get moved to another position before they can be reviewed as not doing a good job while those that are not popular are tossed out on their ears even while they are well performing. If you live by the ICARE principles you will surely be booted out as they are really just for show. People who care about the customer are punished.

Advice to Management

People watch what you do and don't care what you say because they don't line up. Senior management have dead fish eyes because the humanity in them has died. It should not be that to be successful in a company means checking your soul at the door.

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people you'll ever meet. Most people are friendly and willing to help you out
A feeling that you are making a difference
Benefits are good (including matching 401K, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement and FSA's)
I always felt supported by my manager and team and was never micromanaged.
Good PTO once you get past the first year or two

    Cons

Extremely extremely political, not much diversity at the top
Face Time is very important, therefore WFH is discouraged in most areas. That is starting to change, but it's been slow. (I am only speaking about the SF office)
    Compensation isn't competitive
If you got results, no matter how you got them, you were praised. The higher up you go, the less the ICARE Shared Values seem to apply.

    Advice to Management

The constant cost cutting is really hurting morale.
