Pros

Industry leader, focused on global growth while still maintaining ethics and employee and customer centric beliefs

Cons

Competition is not ethical, does not play fair and tries to win at any cost.

Advice to Management

Focus on acquiring strategic competitors that will continue to bring additional scale and scope to all markets. Manufacture more and rely less on manufacturing partners that control our costs.

I have been working at McKesson full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Room for advancement because it is a start up. Lots of hours if you are able to handle them. Friendly team mates. Improving daily.

    Cons

More hours then employees can handle. Some of the management staff need to be a little more flexible. Pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

In your interview process ask if the person can handle 12, 14 and 16 hour days.

"Ever changing, politically charged, and often times too quick to embrace change."

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is a LOT of opportunity here, but you have to be willing to work hard and look for the opportunities.
If you are competent and thought of as a thought leader, you will get praise, and rewards.

    Cons

Work life balance is awful - you are expected to work above 40 hours a week to be considered a "normal" contributor. If you work 40 hours, don't expect praise, rewards or a good performance review.
Benefits aren't what you would expect from the largest healthcare organization in the world. At all. They are expensive and the bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

The changes that you are trying to make are, in most cases, great ideas, but you continue to place individuals in the positions to implement the changes without regard to the employees below. What was once a blossoming corporate environment of change leadership and open communication has turned sour and is no longer transparent, leading employees to lose trust in the leadership. It's hard to endorse or share the vision of a company when you aren't sure you can see the whole picture. Promote your stars from within - they can do so much more than you think they are capable of doing.
