I worked at McKinsey & Company full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Commitment to developing talent through 360 reviews, some of the smartest people in the world, strong culture of values and non-hierarchical.

Cons

Uptight corporate atmosphere, very few perks or company swag.

Advice to Management

Used to compete with other consultancies and Wall St for young talent, but now must adapt to compete with fun, young companies like Google and Facebook.

I worked at McKinsey & Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) great pace of development and topnotch training
    2) one of the best cultures of mentorship I've observed
    3) motivated and intelligent colleagues
    4) exposure to broad set of companies and ideas
    5) structures and incentives that encourage collaboration, team work & growth

    Cons

    1) somewhat risk averse culture
    2) unpredictable travel and work demands
    3) firmwide communication is at times suboptimal - leverage of expertise across the firm is not seamless

    Advice to Management

maintaining and improving your already excellent training and development programs is vital to the long term success of the firm. Also I'd suggest continuing to explore how to encourage increased entrepreneurial activity around new focus areas and clients.

I worked at McKinsey & Company as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work environment, great co-workers, great pay and as long as your working well, they give good raises.

    Cons

There are really no cons that I could think of from working there. I was always treated like family

    Advice to Management

Thank all employees, not only consultants. I worked with graphics department and assistants and they worked really hard. If you could have a couple more employee appreciation outings, that would be great for employees.
