    Pros

Incredible training opportunities, wide-based exposure, best-of-the-best respect/efficiency/thinking, ability to be around very smart and driven people constantly trying to improve, exposure to best in new thinking on a variety of topics, access to reams of data and past analysis which lets you very quickly jump into something, access to experts with diverse and deep experience on almost every topic, will make you an amazing strategic thinker who can consider almost every possible nook and cranny

    Cons

Work-life balance is terrible, sometimes they feel the need to do every single possible analysis when it's just not necessary (time wasting), not common to be told "good job" so you must get used to always killing yourself and always being stressed with little return except for the resume and potential promotion

    Advice to Management

Partners often push for more analyses than necessary, very hard to maintain relationships with constant new staffing (partners need to try to maintain relationships better), place could become a bit more "human" for example people greeting each other in the hallway

    Pros

McKinsey has a great brand name, great for resume building, and will open a lot of doors while you get to learn a lot helping some top tier companies out

    Cons

The primary downside is that relative to what you can make in banking or finance (pre-2008 meltdown) you don't get paid very well. The other downsides are that you sometimes do a lot of work and at the end of the day the client can end up ignoring your recommendations all-together. You rarely get to see anything concrete happen. Also, what you're doing is often ambiguous and feels very fluffy - some people are ok with this, I was not though.

    Advice to Management

Senior management plays no role in your life there as everything is project based.
