I have been working at McKinsey & Company full-time (More than a year)

Pros

I have been very impressed by the development resources available for you here. I’ve had excellent classroom training, networking opportunities across the firm and teammates and clients in studies who also teach me a lot. You get a chance to grow both personally but also can see your clients developing throughout your study. The environment is very entrepreneurial, and if you look for ways to get involved with your passions you can find some spectacular opportunities. From a capability building standpoint, the Firm has studied and understands how to coach, motivate and train adults. The skills you learn through coaching clients will be valuable for your entire life.

Cons

If you are easily tempted by curiosity you can really get involved with a lot. You need to be measured and precise with what you sign up for so that you can give back to your communities, but don’t get stretched too thin. The good news is there are countless feedback mechanisms built into the firm both explicitly and implicitly to help you stay on track.

Advice to Management

Keep prioritizing having a sustainable mindset with teams and clients. Solutions for clients need to last far past the end of a project and the toolkit MI brings to the table for this can really help make change last!

I have been working at McKinsey & Company full-time

    Pros

Tremendous learning and development opportunities - get exposure to high level execs in high end companies from day 1.
Always exciting - staffed on each study 6-12weeks which means you get to work on 4 to 8 different topics, clients, environments each year and learn something new in each one.
Very supportive teams - everyone on the team is welcoming and supportive; great people to spend long hours with each day both at work and after work in team dinners.

    Cons

Lifestyle and travel - leave every Monday morning, come back Thursday or Friday night.
Coding expenses - every week or other week have to submit expense reports for reimbursement since CC is under employee's name

    Advice to Management

    keep it up :)
