Pros

Beautiful buildings, always clean and well kept. I appreciate the business attire dress code, we are all professionals and it is nice to see everyone dressed as such. Very supportive of training and learning opportunities.

Cons

Very top heavy, there are managers who have no one under them, but are in high positions to justify pay rate. COO micro manages to an extreme and does not seem to trust those he has placed in higher level positions. Very male oriented, only 1 female in a high level position.

Advice to Management

Trust the employees you hire to do their job and do it well. If you don't trust them in their position, remove them.

    Pros

    Career opportunities are great at McLane Advanced Technologies. I have seen co-workers advance several notches since I was first employed in 2004. The health care package requires zero dollars out of paycheck. Company provides professional training of choice as well as reasonable tuition assistance.

    Cons

    There is very little public recognition of accomplishments at McLane Advanced Technologies. Most recognition takes place behind closed doors.
    Many policies have to go through Mr. McLane like the donate five dollars to United Way to wear Astros shirts. Most employees have had great ideas to wear shirts besides the Astros but have been turned down. It's no wonder that most people don't participate in Astros Shirts Fridays.

    Advice to Management

    Give more public recognition to employees. Produce quarterly progress follow ups for reviews instead of annual reviews. That way performance can take a more objective stance as opposed to being completely subjective. Performance takes very little quantitative measures into account.
