I worked at MeadWestvaco full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fast-paced energetic environment
Opportunities to collaborate with different Support functions and divisions, all very helpful
Innovative company, hence diverse product offering for our customers

Cons

Limited opportunity to progress unless re-locate
Bureaucratic and conservative

Advice to Management

Lack of training and succession planning / progression opportunities for staff, as well as benefits - not comparable to industry standard.

    Pros

Reasonably well paid, some job security.

    Cons

Jan Willem De Munk has runited the company, squeezing cost at the expense of the employees moral and motivation. He has no focus or strategy and is slowly reducing the company to nothing. No progression for staff and DeMunk is considered a micro manager and control freak.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of De Munk and in 12 months, green shoots would grow again. Start to listen to staff and give people a chance, enpower and reward and the company could grow
