Negative Outlook
Approves of CEO

I worked at Medical Research Council as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

People are very nice, despite the ambitious athmosphere. The CBU offers great resources and its closeness to the Cambridge University brings an additional range of benefits. Overall I can highly recommend applying to the CBU.

Cons

If you are going to undergo a PhD Programme in the CBU, a potential downside is the lack of conference funding. Students are encouraged to seek for funding in the colleges and via their external scholarships, which is fine most of the time.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Very friendly work environment: does not feel heirarchical
    Great reputation
    Opportunties for travel
Training opportunities are good- especially for those starting a career in clinical trials, who often move on to senior positions at other organisations within a few years
Opportunities to work outside of your formal job description allow you to build up further expertise and carve out the career you want.
Academic environment allows greater involvement in trial design and decision making
Lunchtime seminars with great external speakers
    Flexi-time

    Cons

Employees often find they have to leave to progress in their field- promotion can be difficult.
Whilst you often find yourself working outside your formal job description and this can be interesting and challenging, this is not always properly recognised by management in terms of pay and promotion opportunities
Salaries are lower than found elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Review promotional opportunites to avoid losing accomplished staff.
