Approves of CEO

I have been working at Medtronic full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Employees are always aware that the products we make help people become healthy. Highly intelligent, motivated workforce. Opportunities to learn and grow. Attractive salaries.

Cons

Annual layoffs. Leadership located in Minnesota, often too remote to know or care about individual contributors. Promotions tied to visibility, instead of work performance. Compensation is no longer tied to performance.

    Pros

    Cons

    Weak management.
Poor leadership (hypocritical about core values. They are NEVER held accountable).
Promotion not based on qualifications but rather on inflating edos.
    Unhealthy work-life balance.
Lack of understanding and respect of DCM role by management.
Management can be threatening when quota is not met.

    Advice to Management

Learn and execute your job. Start to practice the core values you preach.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Medtronic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really get to see the impact of your work in lives of individuals. Great team mates and some good managers in the company. Decent office space. Fantastic benefits. Fun competitions and prizes.

    Cons

Low salary for the amount of revenue you generate. Some managers are not as good to work for. Very repetitive job and occasional team cooperation issues. Growth opportunities grossly exaggerated.

    Advice to Management

Give the DTA's more credit for their work. Take a look at the salary levels for those employees, especially compared to revenue generation. The work place is modern and all, but what can you do to make the office more lively on a day to day basis? The job is extremely repetitive and the office becomes very bland after a month or two on the floor. Create a true culture, not a call center with a great brand on the building.
