Pros

Exciting technology, great people, awesome culture. Medtronic is a well respected company for a reason. I can't say enough good things about the company.

Cons

Working for a large company in a highly regulated industry means you have to deal with a lot of red tape.

Advice to Management

Consider implementing engineering leadership development rotational programs, similar to the LDRP for MBAs. It would be nice to get the broad exposure rotational programs offer.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

You are working to help people with Diabetes and that is a meaningful occupation.
The location is perfect - Southern California has much better weather than MN.

    Cons

Still a disconnect in professionalism of Medtronic Corporate (in MN) and Medtronic Minimed in Northridge, culture has been slow to change.

    Advice to Management

Try to make the organization more professional like Medtronic Corporate.
Favoritism destroys employee trust and respect - it needs to be clear that decisions are made fairly.
