I worked at Meijer as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

Dedicated Team Members who are good at what they do make the projects fun to work one.

Cons

There is a lack of creativity, innovation, and risk taking from management and decision makers and thus company behind the times always playing catch-up to competition.

Advice to Management

Invest time and money to move software development to small teams utilizing Agile or Scrum Methodology and you would greatly reduce your time to market. Right now your completion always kills you on bringing service offerings to market for customers. It would also improve developer satisfaction and foster more creativity and innovation.

I have been working at Meijer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Easy to cause stress for the incompetent management who doesn't realize how they are slowly killing the company by avoiding obvious solutions.

    Cons

Meijer is now in the hands of the lazy buttkissers and those whose butts were kissed. If only the produce operation realized how much they are keeping the company afloat, they would rebel and shut down all the bureaucratic boofs who are simply filling space until they can retire.

    Advice to Management

Fire ANOTHER tier of middle mamagement. Adopt modern hours and dress code. Abandon random metrics. MCQI is JOKE, and you know it.

I have been working at Meijer part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am not sure about everyone else but my experience was a great one with my Meijer family.

    Cons

The only con is the non stop working weekends but that is all retail and the managers do not socialize much and they have there favorites who they speak too which was fine.
