Doesn't Recommend

Pros

Fun atmosphere / culture
Competitive pay when hitting targets
Management positions are promoted from within, so there are many possible career paths

Cons

Poor communication from management
Lack of tech support / slow response times and issues that just never get resolved
Constantly changing initiatives from management

Advice to Management

Communicate messages more clearly to your teams (specifically from upper management). Too much fluctuation in company-wide initiatives leave employees feeling misdirected and lost.

    Pros

    - Fun, young people
    - Ability to learn a lot in a short period of time and get some good experience
    - Opportunity to make really good money if you work for it

I'd recommend this job for any recent grad who's looking to work hard and get some experience. I didn't know what I wanted to do when I graduated and this wound up being a good fit. I got some good experience that can now be applied to high level jobs. I also made some really good money (but I worked for it!).

    Cons

    - Poor communication between upper mgmt and the rest of the company
    - The benefits package is not great
    - No 401K match
    - Mgmt will sometimes make you feel guilty about taking time off or not attending "optional" events (office dinners, etc.)
    - Very little training for new managers
    - Get the feeling upper management is "winging" it often, seems like they throw a bunch of idea at the wall to see what sticks

If you're experienced, you'll wind up taking a pay cut compared to other offers. Meltwater won't take into consideration what you're currently making, what other offers you receive, etc. It's a very rigid salary structure.

    Advice to Management

    - Promote people based on ability, not sales targets!
    - Offer training for new managers and throughout the management career.
    - Communicate with your people - don't make last minute decisions about someone's career without discussing it with them and the people it affects first
    - Stop preaching the "no sharp elbows" doctrine -- it doesn't exist anymore!
    - Invest in tech!!!!!!!!!!!!! The product is not as reliable as it could be
