I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good compensation, and family oriented culture, good coworkers. There is flexibility within the department and room to grow. They offer great benefits.

Cons

Long hours; small departments rely on small set of employees; being on call can take away from work/life balance.

Advice to Management

Show more interest in whats going on in the trenches; be in tune with the employees

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Facility is well kept and clinical areas are updated. Patient centered care is promoted and encouraged which I love! All patients are treated regardless of their ability to pay and everyone is treated like a VIP!

    Cons

Just this year reorganization and cost cutting now effecting clinicians and non clinicians.
Professionals are being flexed off as much as possible and any educational opportunities are being cut back as well. More experienced and talented clinicians are being encouraged to leave while
other facilities are paying sign on bonuses?

    Advice to Management

Although cost cutting is main priority, be careful who leaves in the near future as recruiting
talent like that back in the future may not be easy as baby boomers leaving the work force for retirement and newer less experienced clinicians enetering the market. Look at the national
employment listings as that will give you insight as to where your needs will be as well. Maybe not today, but in the future. Training and sign on bonuses are more expensive than keeping talented employees satisfied.

    Pros

Memorial saves lives, help families, keeps the community safe and employs amazing people

    Cons

It may stop being a community healthcare system if Rick Scott gets his way.

    Advice to Management

Keep on building bridges with the community, your patients, your employees and your physicians.
