I worked at Memorial Hermann Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Decent salary, okay benefits and working for largest company in Houston. Great healthcare provider and leader in the market.

Cons

Limited upside career wise, lots of dinosaurs still roaming around, not for the aggressive money making types. Management could be better.

Advice to Management

$15 gift card to Kroger during the holidays is not a substitute for a bonus.

I have been working at Memorial Hermann Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are a few great people who work at Memorial Hermann who are positive and encouraging.
Match 401K up to 2.5% when one gets two years of service.
Ability to promote within the company.

    Cons

Does not invest in the furthering of its employees education without serious strings attached. For every $1000 alloted, one year of service has to be promised. Max of $3000 per fiscal year.
Sick time and vacation time are all in one bank. Most emplyees get 2-4 weeks for both sick and vacation time.
Values physicians thoughts and opinions over non-physician staff.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in employee's education.
Seperate sick time and vacation time.
Make major efforts to prove to their non-physican staff that their exerience and ideas are as important as the physican's experience and ideas.

I have been working at Memorial Hermann Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good teamwork amongst nurses and other ancillary staff. Friendly doctors. Only there for a year then relocated.

    Cons

Some departments had negative staff, especially the phlebotomists.

    Advice to Management

Felt the new CNO at Memorial City showed favoritism.
