I worked at Menards part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Pay is above min wage and you receive a raise 3 months 6 months and then every year (0.10), they have flexible schedule, if your a good employee (like myself) you can receive full time hours.

Cons

constantly firing and re-hiring, new polices almost everyday, small opportunity to move up if your manager doesn't favor you.

Advice to Management

check in and do surprise visit more often.

I worked at Menards part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent at $8.40 (if I recall correctly) starting wage and an additional $2 an hour on the weekends. Somewhat flexible with hours.

    Cons

They will regularly schedule you for 7 1/2 hour shifts so that they are not required to give you a lunch. If you are a cashier, you will be standing on concrete floors for hours on end doing mind numbingly monotonous tasks, with most likely two 10 minute breaks and an occasional 30 minute lunch if you work over eight hours. The clientele is predominantly white trash, senile seniors and unjustifiably angry contractors. I suppose that's to be expected from a hardware store, though.

    Advice to Management

At least pretend that your employees are people, too.

I worked at Menards (More than a year)

    Pros

Good training, the managers were always helpful while I was learning the job.
My managers were flexible in working around my school schedule.
Good opportunities for advancement if you are willing to put in the hours.

    Cons

Working weekends was the main downside.
The management team had to work long hours and weekends.
Average pay in relation to similar companies.
