Pros

1) Schering-Plough is a high paying employer within the Pharma industry. The bonus structure is one of the best and they are very generous with the annual pool allocated.
2) Schering-Plough is very structured and the HR policies are detailed. They try to develop employees in several ways.
3) Schering offers the freedom to venture in areas outside your comfort zone, even if that is a development opportunity- in important projects. Usually in a big corporation the size of Schering, employees tend to be in silos.

Cons

The motivation level at present is at rock bottom after the Merck aquistion.A large part of this has to do with the uncertainity. Several employees (including myself) have worked very hard for the past 6 years, only for the EMT to leave at the end of the year.

Advice to Management

What is the point in selling the company (although it makes sense $$$ wise) after preaching leader behaviors and other ideals for 6 years?

    Pros

No one knows if you are working or not. It's a "WallyWorld". Good severance packages coming when Merck cut all of our jobs, Just ride thewave until the severances come. 6 months of pay...

    Cons

No management direction. The best have already been fired in the name of cost cutting. The management that is left is deluded into thinking that anything they do now matters. Hello--You have been bought out. Your job is over! No one likes each other or even speaks. It is as bad as anyone could ever imagine. The place sucks!!!

    Advice to Management

    Sell, They listened!!!

    Pros

Pays well, reasonable work/life balance and in general, people are nice.

    Cons

Extremely political - for career advancement you have to brown nose the correct people, which are few and far between. Promotions are not based on skill set but rather who you know.

    Advice to Management

The leadership behaviors are viewed as lip service by the people who actually do the work and we would appreciate it if you stopped insulting our intelligence.
