I worked at MetLife full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

MetLife is a great company to work for, offering plentiful training to grow your skill sets and a broad range of benefits and competitive salary.

Cons

MetLife needs to put more effort into retaining the talent they have within their own ranks. Many highly experienced people have been downsized over the last several years. It's a shame that they develop the talent and then let it go.

I have been working at MetLife as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Ample scope for showing your ownership and taking the reins to run the projects. or If you want to be laid back and have a laissez-faire, this is the best place...

    Cons

Challenging environment, literally and otherwise. IT is not global and they have been struggling with enterprise systems that are disparate and not integrated well

    Advice to Management

You have got to get Global in IT; there are enterprise systems that are point solutions and not shared across businesses. And IT has to be nimble, and robust.
