I have been working at Microchip Technology full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

This place requires no extra hours, has a relaxed atmosphere, and minimal process/paperwork for the engineers. It is an excellent arrangement if you have a family, or other interest outside of the workplace that cause you to value your time more than a competitive salary, and if you like to write code more than you like to push paper around.

Cons

You will need to challenge yourself if you want to keep growing, as the work environment will not challenge you. Very few young people work here. Salary is below-average. The reward system is a little strange.

I have been working at Microchip Technology full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people are friendly and everybody is important to their respected team. I feel like Microchip is a stable company with no layoffs in the recent past and none in the foreseeable future.

    Cons

Pay raises are few and far between across the entire company. The company is very cost conscious, which is a good thing for shareholders except that as employees we end up using old and outdated equipment and computers.

I have been working at Microchip Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are looking for stability, you found the right place.
Very stable, no surprises and on a personal level people are all nice

    Cons

No innovation, no empowerment ( essentially all is decided by two c-level people), nothing which remotely costs money will be approached.
In here people do what needs tobe done. "Just keep it running"
Workforce has some cult-like attitude towards their leader.

    Advice to Management

Just because something worked 10 years ago it does not mean it's right forever.
The world evolves, so should Microchip.
